đź’ˇ Weekly Prompt: Turn AI into Your Hiring Consultant
"If you don't have time to do it right, when will you have time to do it over?" - Leila Hormozi
This week's prompt is inspired by two sailors turned entrepreneurs that just launched an app.
And gives a friendly reminder of what happens when you hire the wrong team the first time around.

You get to mastermind with 4 other entrepreneurs and ask them for advice, resources, and connections

You get my help walking you through using the prompt so you learn how to get the most out of your conversation with AI

Feedback from the last Thought Partner Session: “I’ve had a number of calls the last couple of days, the one one with you folks stands out the most. Thanks a lot Eva for making that happen.”

Elayna Carausu and Riley Whitelum are sailors, turned YouTubers, turned entrepreneurs. They have several businesses - and one just launched this week.
The vagabonds (IYKYK) launched their app SeaPeople. SeaPeople is a community app for sailors around the world.
In their first promo video for the app they talked about the big decision they made when they decided to build it.
They had 2 options:
Raise funding and build it in the US
Hire a development agency in India
Their team decided to go with the latter. And unfortunately, it didn’t work out.
In a polite way, they outline the mistake they made and the hail mary they got when ex-Shopify CTO Jean-Michel Lemieux reached out to look over the code.
His response to the months of money and time they’d put into the current version of the app?
It all needs to get thrown out and they needed to start over.
Ouch.
This isn’t a story designed to make you fearful of hiring overseas.
Instead, I want it to be a reminder to take your due diligence as far as you possibly can before you hire overseas (or realistically hire anywhere and anyone).
This week’s prompt turns AI into your hiring consultant that helps you with the 5 phases of hiring:
Figuring out what you’re looking for from candidates to know they’re a great fit
Getting a second opinion on their experience
Giving you a list of questions to ask in the interview based on their prior experience and the type of role, project, or task you’re hiring for
Listening to your intuition and working through reason and logic to hire the most ideal candidate
Setting up a test project or milestones to avoid going all-in on a candidate before you know they’re the right fit
I used this prompt to help me figure out the best candidate to hire for an animated tutorial video I’m making for ThinkWithAI.
I don’t have any experience with video editors so this list of what I should look for and avoid in a candidate is wildly helpful:
Here are your instructions for this prompt:
Copy and paste the prompt into ChatGPT or Claude
If you’re going to need AI to look through an online portfolio you’ll want to use ChatGPT for this prompt
You won’t need to add any context - AI will walk you through each part of the conversation
Add “Create Hiring Plan” to your Notion, Asana, Monday (etc.) task list for 30-minutes in an open time slot in your calendar so you don’t forget to go through this
Here's the prompt to copy and paste into Claude.ai:
